Today we introduce Abdul Solara who joined Bedford in 2021. Abdul is a Professional Services Consultant and in his spare time he likes to do martial arts, swimming and going to the cinema. Throughout lockdown he picked up some work-related courses and calisthenics.
What made you consider joining Bedford?
I was looking for a role within the Anaplan ecosystem, and I was really impressed by the company’s culture and attitude throughout the interviewing cycle.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of being a part of a highly skilled team. Being able to work side to side with my Bedford colleagues has definitely sped up my upskilling.
What’s your favourite part of working at Bedford?
The company’s focus on upskilling the team, filling any gaps that might exist, through training courses, topic-specific sessions, and customer engagements.
Describe Bedford in 3 words
Expertise, Agile and Fun.
What’s the company like? How would you describe the team culture?
The culture is very relaxed, yet professional. Everyone is super helpful and approachable, and you really feel like you are part of a team.
How would you describe a typical day?
I start the day with stand-up meetings, touching base with the project’s solution architect and then spend the day building models.
What did you wish you knew before joining?
Nothing really. I would say Bedford always provided ways to help whenever I needed. “No Surprises” is engrained in the company’s culture.
What’s the most important skill that someone will need to succeed as a consultant?
Client handling, and proper communication with the client are very important skills to have.
What is the biggest challenge that someone in this position would face?
Managing your time so that you can deliver the same quality for every project.
What have you learned in the last six months?
I had the opportunity to learn something from everyone I worked with since joining. As I joined in August 2021, my onboarding process focused on upskilling through courses, touching base with the Enablement team on any questions around my project assignments, and colleagues who guided me whenever I got stuck.
Why do you stay at Bedford?
I stay at Bedford because I can see it as a place where I can grow and build my career.
