Welcome to our latest meet the team blog. Today we introduce Dmitry Pasko who joined Bedford in November 2021. Dmitry is a Solution Architect who specialises in FP&A, Portfolio Management, CAPEX and OPEX, and in his spare time enjoys playing tennis, reading books (mostly science fiction and biographies of historical figures) and solving puzzles.

What made you consider joining Bedford?

I sought to join a diverse organisation with a specialised focus on Anaplan solutions development. Upon conducting thorough research, it became evident that Bedford stood out as a leading company in this field, making my decision to pursue an opportunity with Bedford straightforward and well-founded.

What are you most proud of?

One of the most rewarding moments occurs when a customer realises that tasks previously requiring several hours in spreadsheets or legacy tools can now be completed in a matter of minutes with the click of a button and the execution of an algorithm or export. I take great pride in our solutions surpassing customer expectations and in our team’s ability to propose perfectly tailored solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems.

What’s your favourite part of working at Bedford?

I greatly appreciate the diversity of our team, which includes members from various nationalities, and the opportunity to work with customers from different countries. Personally, I find this to be an immensely enriching experience.

What’s the company like? How would you describe the team culture?

It truly feels like we are all in the same boat, with every team member sharing in both accomplishments and challenges. This sense of unity makes recognition for our successes incredibly rewarding, while also fostering a collective sense of responsibility and solidarity when addressing issues that arise.

How would you describe a typical day?

Typically, our day begins with a Stand-Up meeting where each project team member addresses three simple yet highly effective questions: What was accomplished yesterday? What is my focus for today? What obstacles are in my way? Following this discussion, everyone is focused on delivering the results they have committed to achieving.

What’s the most important skill that someone will need to succeed in your role?

Persistence is essential to success. By gradually building on the solid foundation established at the project’s inception, our focus is first delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) efficiently. This approach ensures we mitigate risks and remain time-effective, while also leaving time for potential enhancements and quality-of-life improvements in the later stages of the project.

What is the biggest challenge that someone in this position would face?  

You need to be able to apply key skills such as resilience, quality assurance, teamwork, and customer focus. By fostering alignment within the team, sharing responsibilities, and consistently delivering results on a daily basis, it is possible to manage and complete multiple projects per week with high efficiency.

What have you learned in the last six months? 

I have learned to appreciate every moment spent with colleagues and customers on a project. Although it might sometimes feel like the engagement will last forever, it is important to recognise that it is always temporary. During this time, it is crucial to remain the best version of yourself and fully embrace the experience.

Why do you stay at Bedford? 

My enthusiasm for joining Bedford is driven by several factors, the most compelling of which is the opportunity to work in a supportive and collegial environment with like-minded professionals. I am also excited by the prospect of being part of a leading Anaplan Partner and contributing to Bedford’s ongoing success and leadership in the industry.
