Welcome to our latest meet the team blog
Welcome to our latest meet the team blog. Today we introduce Marcella Hynes who joined Bedford in 2012. Marcella is a Sales Executive and in her spare time she enjoys coastal walks and runs near her home in Brighton. She is a passionate Liverpool supporter and is currently learning to speak Greek.
What made you consider joining Bedford?
I joined at exactly the right time, there was a progressive shift for companies to migrate from legacy to cloud planning and our directors who had a great reputation in the industry were incredibly excited at what Anaplan could offer, it was too good of an opportunity to miss.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of how Bedford has evolved and grown over the last few years, our work output and productivity recognised by winning Anaplan’s Partner of the Year award for the last 7 consecutive years, which is no mean feat.
What’s your favourite part of working at Bedford?
My favourite part of working at Bedford is always the eureka moment from customers when they visualise the power of Anaplan and then begin to understand how it will dramatically transform their planning, it’s a game changer.
Describe Bedford in 3 words
Inclusive, Reputable, Diverse.
What’s the company like? How would you describe the team culture?
It’s a great place to work, our unique Bedford DNA identifies us as the best at what we do, but we’re also a very friendly, sociable and supportive company.
How would you describe a typical day?
A typical day in Sales? I’m not sure there is one. My day plan consists of core activities, heaps of research, prospecting, responding to calls/emails (lots of emails) and setting up meetings etc, but the specifics do change daily which is challenging in a good way.
What’s the most important skill that someone will need to succeed in your role?
Resilience.
What is the biggest challenge that someone in this position would face?
Finding how to win, keeping motivated, positive and learning from every changeable outcome.
What have you learned in the last six months?
As part of our in-house training, I recently completed a Project Fundamentals course, covering the core principles of how we deliver a successful project. I found it really useful to get further insight cross-functionally.
Why do you stay at Bedford?
Bedford is a company that recognises its people and customers are the most valuable assets and over the years this hasn’t changed, I love the fact that our very first customer (from many years ago) is still a Bedford customer.
