Welcome to our latest meet the team blog
Today we introduce Irene Ortiz Molina who joined Bedford in 2021. Irene is a Professional Services Manager modelling model for Jaguar Land Rover. In her spare time Irene loves to spend time outdoors visiting new places and doing road trips.
“My last road trip was around the white villages in south Spain, something I would highly recommend!”
What made you consider joining Bedford?
I had been working with Anaplan for a couple of years and I really liked the tool, so I decided to look for jobs which had a full-time focus on it. When I did the interviewed with Bedford, I was so impressed with how much they care about their employees, which made me really want to join the company.
What are you most proud of?
To work at a place that supports me both in my professional and personal life and create a good balance between the two.
What’s your favourite part of working at Bedford?
My favourite part of working at Bedford is that no two days are the same. I´m always meeting new team members, new clients, and new use cases. It´s amazing how much you can learn working here.
Describe Bedford in 3 words
Innovation, Diverse, Flexible
What’s the company like? How would you describe the team culture?
The team culture is open and caring. We are all ready to give a hand to anyone who needs advice or expertise. Everyone from the senior leadership team to the consultants, are always ready to listen and make sure everyone is feeling happy and well.
How would you describe a typical day?
I think there is no typical day at Bedford. It really depends on who your client is. I try to start my day reading emails and then having a meeting with the client, and the consultant team to organise the team and prioritise the tasks for the day. I also keep an eye out for any needs my direct team would have in case they need my support.
What’s the most important skill that someone will need to succeed as a consultant?
I think the most important skill for this job is humility. Every day we need to learn new technical skills, new ways of communicating with customers or of project management. It´s very important that we are humble enough to recognise this and can keep growing ourselves.
What is the biggest challenge that someone in this position would face?
Keeping up with all the technical improvements within Anaplan, as well as balancing your team and customer needs.
What have you learned in the last six months?
I think one of my biggest achievements in the last 6 months is learning how to best support a cross functional team who is in different locations. I´ve also learnt a lot on project management and how to approach different type of clients with different needs.
Why do you stay at Bedford?
I stay at Bedford because I really like the environment and I know everyone looks after us. It´s amazing how many initiatives we´ve got to make us all feel part of the team and make sure we are happy and listened to.
