Meet Our Team – Andre Pretorius
Welcome to our latest meet the team blog.
Today we introduce Andre Pretorius who joined Bedford in 2014. Andre is a Customer Success Director and in his spare time he likes cooking, mostly on the Braai. He also enjoys the outdoors by running and cycling and chasing around after his two year old.
What made you consider joining Bedford?
I was first introduced to Bedford when working for one of their competitors on the same customer. I found the culture and go-getting attitude across the team something that made me want to work with them.
What are you most proud of?
Winning Partner of the year for Anaplan for the last 6 years running and being part of the journey growing Bedford to the company it is today.
What’s your favourite part of working at Bedford?
Without sounding like a cliché, it must be the people. Being part of a company that has grown at the rate it has over the last few years, and still seeing that it values its people more and more every day makes me even more proud to be working at Bedford.
Describe Bedford in three words
Inclusive, Innovative, Fun
What’s the company like? How would you describe the team culture?
Bedford is a company of like-minded individuals working towards a common goal of customer and Anaplan success.
How would you describe a typical day?
Supporting the customer success team ensuring they have all the resources available to deliver successful projects. In flight oversight to ensure projects are progressing as planned. Checking in with customers making sure they have what is needed to get the most value out of the Anaplan platform.
What is the biggest challenge that someone in this position would face?
With a platform and resource pool evolving at the current rate it is growing, it is critical to keep in mind the success and empowerment of the customer.
What did you wish you knew before joining Bedford?
Nothing really. Bedford were open about all aspects of the role before I joined and still are in any Bedford affairs to this day.
What’s the most important skill that someone will need to succeed as a consultant?
Even though a big part of being an Anaplan consultant involves working on Anaplan, it is just as important to have interpersonal skills to ensure that there is seamless communication with yourself and the customer on an engagement.
What have you learned in the last six months?
That time is one of the most valuable resources available and the management of it a critical skill!
Why do you stay at Bedford?
Seeing how Bedford has grown over the last few years, I can only imagine where it is going in the coming year. Watch this space!
