Meet our Team – Serkan Emiroglu
Welcome to our latest meet the team blog.
Today we introduce Serkan Emiroglu who joined Bedford in 2021. Serkan is an Anaplan Solutions Consultant for our DACH region and in his spare time he likes to spend time with family and friends and ride his motorbike. Serkan also enjoys playing football and running but spends most of his time chasing his two young sons and watching football on TV!
What made you consider joining Bedford?
One of the main reasons for joining Bedford was the company size and structure we have here. In addition, I was attracted to the challenge of being able to further develop the DACH region and at the same time being able to learn an innovative platform like Anaplan.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of being able to contribute to moving our company forward in DACH and to remain the largest and most established Anaplan Partner in EMEA.
What’s your favourite part of working at Bedford?
The opportunity to move the company in the right direction. The structure of the team means we are close to our leadership team and we can always make the difference by suggesting ideas and opinions.
Describe Bedford in 3 words
Experienced. Supportive. Friendship
What’s the company like? How would you describe the team culture?
At Bedford we have a really open-minded team culture and if you need support in any area of the business you will always find someone who can help you. At Bedford we also have several (online) social activities to stay in contact with our colleagues which is extremely important in the remote world we all live in currently!
How would you describe a typical day?
In my opinion there is no typical day in my role as my tasks are very diverse e. g. I do discovery calls with prospects, prepare my presentations, demo the platform to prospects, work on my appointments and of course stay connected with my colleagues.
What did you wish you knew before joining?
I don’t have the feeling that I missed any information before I joined as I had the chance to ask thorough questions during the interviews process and I received very open and honest answers.
What’s the most important skill that someone will need to succeed as a consultant?
In order to be able to work in consulting you have to be very resilient and able to coordinate your work/projects independently. It’s important that you talk the same (business) language as your clients to run successful projects.
What is the biggest challenge that someone in this position would face?
There are some challenges you need to deal with in this position but in my opinion the biggest one is to be able to manage different requirements from different clients at the same time.
What have you learned in the last six months?
In the last six months I learned a lot of new possibilities and functions in Anaplan and how I can use them successfully. I also learned how I can give other new colleagues a helping hand to make it easier for them when joining Bedford.
Why do you stay at Bedford?
I stay because I am convinced of the company, the managers and colleagues and I enjoy working in this team and with Anaplan. I think I can make a difference with my work in the company.
