[Music] Welcome to another Bedford Consulting spotlight video, focusing on supply chain. In particular, we’ll demonstrate how a demand and supply team can collaborate to deliver an operating plan in Anaplan.
Controller’s Dashboard: To start, we’re looking at a controller’s dashboard that provides an overview of the full sales and operational planning process. This end-to-end process guides users through a typical SNOP activity. Anaplan can be configured to follow any process your company has. The planning cycle is controlled by a workflow that runs alongside the SNOP plan, providing control, deadlines, and approval.
Demand Planning: Before beginning our demand planning, we review our baseline forecast and overlay risks and opportunities across multiple scenarios to achieve a consensus demand plan by product.
Baseline Forecast: The demand planner dashboard displays actual sales and the initial baseline demand forecast for the planning horizon. Anaplan supports various methods for populating this baseline forecast, such as a rolling average or statistical forecasts based on historical data.
Statistical Forecast: The statistical forecast uses historical data to project future trends. Anaplan calculates the statistical forecast automatically using product history imported from source systems. The most accurate forecasting algorithm is selected by product.
Adjustments: After establishing the baseline forecast, adjustments are overlaid to increase accuracy. Three adjustment methods include risks, opportunities, and manual adjustments, allowing demand planners to refine the forecast. Anaplan tracks every data change in real-time.
Planning Scenarios: Anaplan supports planning across multiple scenarios, including best-case, worst-case, and expected case. The demand plan feeds into the revenue plan and supply review.
Revenue Plan: The revenue plan is driven by the expected demand and is based on price books held in Anaplan.
Supply Review: The supply review involves planning for inventory, capacity, and sourcing requirements. The demand plan links to both revenue and supply plans.
Inventory Planning: Inventory planning calculates replenishment orders based on inventory attributes, safety stock levels, advanced demand, and other factors. Inventory planning is connected in real-time, and changes have an instant impact.
Supply Plan: The supply plan suggests orders to meet demand based on attributes and constraints. It automatically proposes order amounts when supply falls below safety stock levels. The outcome is a series of purchase orders.
Connected Planning: Adjusting the demand plan updates supply, creating a collaborative cycle between the demand and supply teams.
In conclusion, the demand and supply teams have collaborated to deliver an operating plan in Anaplan. Thanks for watching. If you want more information about supply chain planning in Anaplan or a more detailed demonstration, please contact us, and we’ll be happy to help.
