World Values Day at Bedford Consulting
Our values underpin every decision we make as an organisation, we truly live and breathe them on a day-to-day basis. From hiring decisions, operational processes, how we interact with our people & customers, to our strategic decision making, we don’t take action at Bedford without aligning to these core principles. These values are the basis for our DNA, or as our Partner Anaplan coined, ‘our secret sauce’ in delivering to an excellent standard across EMEA.
This year we are celebrating World Values Day by asking our peers to nominate each other for individual values awards, so we thought we would share more about our values and how we try to bring them to life at Bedford.
Customer Focus
We look to enable businesses to connect their planning processes & accelerate their performance. We exist to help business to make better, faster and more agile decisions using Anaplan. Our customers are at the heart of what we do, we aim to foster long lasting relationships to support them in achieving their goals.
We have named our delivery team “Customer Success” for good reason. It is not only about providing a high-quality solution at the end of a project journey, it’s about empowering them, challenging them, and enabling them for long term success. We aim to measure ourselves on the value creation for our customers and are trusted to get the job done.
Partnership
This year we celebrate our 10th year of Partnership with Anaplan. A partnership which has been the catalyst for our accelerated growth across the EMEA region over the last 10 years. Starting in the UKI, we have now expanded into DACH, Nordics & Benelux hubs and continue to look at opportunities elsewhere in some of the more emerging markets across Europe Our relationship with Anaplan is paramount to our strategy, we are one team, we stand together, and we succeed together. A partnership which was born over 10 years ago from a handful of people, has now flourished into a network of global colleagues & friendships. It is the responsibility of everyone at Bedford to foster these relationships for the next ten years of our partnership, and to achieve our goals together. A true partnership.
Humility
Above all else, we act with respect towards our colleagues, partners & customers. We believe it’s important to respect each other, leave our egos at the door and work as a collective to help develop the people around us. We have an open growth mindset; we are always learning from each other. Everyone brings their authentic selves to Bedford and we welcome the diversity that this brings to our team, as our people come from all over the world leading to increased innovation. This allows us to create the amazing, safe, open, and supportive culture we have here at Bedford, while we strive for our common goal. We ask that anyone joining Bedford respects the people who have come before them, the people who have built our reputation over many years of hard work and commitment, and that they carry this DNA forward for many years to come.
Innovation
We continuously take the opportunity to develop new ways of thinking and working, being constantly curious, acting and adapting. Understanding what our customers are currently doing and finding more effective ways of achieving results. Anaplan as a tool is constantly innovating and evolving, so it’s important for us to be at the forefront of these enhancements and new features to best serve our customers. Businesses can, at times, think within the limitations they are used to with Excel processes and it is our role to help them discover the art of the possible and to innovate their business processes, empowered by Anaplan’s enhanced functionality.
Quality
Our reputation is built on the quality of our delivery. We aim to work smart, work hard and be ourselves. We enter every engagement asking ourselves how we can help the business to make better, faster and more agile decisions.
Maintaining this high quality is undoubtedly a top priority for Bedford as we continue our growth, our reputation demands it. We are fortunate enough to have some of the longest standing Anaplan experts in the world at Bedford, some with over 10 years of experience and we have developed strategies to leverage this knowledge base across the organisation. Our project teams can feel empowered by the wider knowledge base of Bedford in any given engagement.
Feedback is also essential to us and an intrinsic part of our quality & enablement, aiding in our continuous improvement. We focus on three keys areas of feedback: Process driven feedback from customer engagements, 360-degree via performance review and peer to peer feedback, and Thank you, Thursdays, a nice opportunity for value driven recognition across our peers. we are focused on developing ourselves, and being the best version of Bedford we can
Teamwork
We believe we have an amazing culture of teamwork and inclusivity at Bedford. We work as a team to succeed. It’s about being true team players, supporting each other, learning from each other and sharing information to help grow as a team and deliver value for our customers.
We get together regularly to knowledge share and create connections, quarterly virtuals, and (often lively) off-site meetings as well as annual fun away days. We have a buddy system for new starters to help show them the ropes, and teammates have coffee roulette dates to get to know each other. We are also launching a new initiative around ‘Social Interest Groups’ to create even more connections between our people.
We ask ourselves to look out for the person to the left of you, and the person to the right of you. We share our knowledge and learnings via our internal Slack community. Jumping in to ask and answer questions, sharing learnings and best practices, challenging each-other when needed, and just being there to support each-other. We also recognise our quarterly Slack heroes, those who have gone above and beyond to help their teammates.
